In 2016, Pasquini & Bini, in collaboration with the Design Campus of the University of Florence, promoted a workshop with a selected group of students to research new vases for urban furniture. At the end of the study, a catalogue was produced with all the works presented by the young designers. All the creations turned out to be interesting and some, more than others, deserving of prizes. Thus, during 2018, we created MARTE and DIAMANTE.
Maria Luisa Malpelo is the designer behind the DIAMANTE line, which consists of a vase and a seat that, when combined together, resemble the outline of a diamond brilliant cut. These two components, with their bevelled edges, can be placed side by side and combined at will, creating geometric and regular partners that recall the Arab world and, in particular, the mashrabiye. Vases and poufs can be used separately and in turn combined with each other and arranged according to the conformation of the space in which they are placed. The vases can be placed side by side along one of the facets of the diamond to form dividing fences for parks, private gardens, shopping centres, airports or hotel lobbies.
Lorenzo Pelosini is the designer of MARTE. The pot has a rounded and essential shape but features a distinctive and characterising concave spur in the central part. It is capable of accommodating large plants thanks to its capacity of approximately 1400 litres, its reinforced bottom suitable for supporting weight and the special guides that facilitate its transport by forklift. A perfect pot for enhancing public and private spaces with a decisive tone, capable of transferring the value and quality typical of MADE IN ITALY design to the environments in which it is placed.
